Northumberland comes alive every summer with a packed calendar of shows, festivals and country events. Whether you’re into classic cars, world-class equestrian sport, or a good old-fashioned country show, there’s something happening right on the doorstep of our Northumberland developments. Here’s our guide to four of the best.
Bellingham Show and Country Festival 2026
One of the oldest one-day country fairs in Northumberland, the Bellingham Show and Country Festival returns on Saturday 29th August 2026, from 9am to 5pm. Set in the heart of the North Tyne valley, visitors can expect inter-farm agricultural challenges, dog and Heavy Horse displays, vintage vehicles, live music, Northumbrian piping and traditional wrestling, plus plenty for the kids. It’s a firm favourite for families across Tynedale and a great day out for anyone considering a move to this beautiful corner of Northumberland.
Burgham Horse Trials 2026
Northumberland’s premier equestrian fixture, the Burgham International Horse Trials, running from Thursday 30th July to Sunday 2nd August 2026 at Burgham Park, near Morpeth. Set in rolling Northumbrian countryside, Burgham attracts some of the world’s top eventing riders alongside grassroots competitors. It’s also the final leg of the Northumberland Challenge, linking Burgham with Belsay and Alnwick Ford. For anyone with an interest in equestrian sport — or simply looking for a scenic day out — Burgham is unmissable.
Northumberland Classic & Performance Motor Show 2026
Car enthusiasts, mark your calendars: the Northumberland Classic & Performance Motor Show returns to Tynedale Park, Corbridge (right next to Corbridge Railway Station) on Sunday 16th August 2026. Spread across 30 acres of showground, the event brings together classic cars, kit cars, modern classics, motorcycles, light commercials and classic 4x4s, along with trade stands, an autojumble, and full arena commentary throughout the day. It’s one of the region’s best-loved motoring events and a great family day out in one of Northumberland’s prettiest Roman market towns.
GlastonAbbey at Hexham Abbey 2026
Looking for something a little different? GlastonAbbey returns to the Cloister Lawn at Hexham Abbey on Friday 31st July and Saturday 1st August 2026 featuring a weekend of live tribute acts against the stunning backdrop of the Abbey. It’s become a real highlight of the Hexham summer events calendar, drawing music lovers from across the North East.
From country shows to classic cars, Northumberland’s summer calendar has something for everyone — and if you’re thinking about making this beautiful part of the North East your home, take a look at our developments at Sycamore Place, Barrasford and Burgham Park, both perfectly placed to enjoy everything the region has to offer.
