Quantity Surveyor

Alnwick

We have an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join the established Commercial team. Cussins (North East) Limited are a family owned business based in Alnwick, with developments throughout the North East of England. We have an extensive growth plan in place and were recently awarded 29th place in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out accurate build cost assessments of acquired land; maintain budget control throughout development; and manage cost overruns within agreed levels.
  • Accurate costing and preparation of budgets for each aspect of site development.
  • Analysing and reporting on costs and cash flow vs budget.
  • Preparing tenders and procure sub-contractors.
  • Evaluating and agreeing variations and instructions.
  • Liaising with site personnel and subcontractors to maximise productivity.

The ideal candidate will be someone with experience of working within the construction industry (ideally house building) in a surveying role. A qualification in surveying is desirable. You will have excellent IT skills and the ability to work to deadlines. You will also have excellent organisational, planning time management skills.

Reporting to the Sales Manager the job purposed is to promptly respond to all leads generated and aim to achieve required conversion rates. The sales advisor will be actively involved with all parties, to progress the sale reservation through to achieve legal exchange and completion. The role will require the highest levels of customer care ensuring customer satisfaction is delivered. Full time to include weekend work, ability to work independently and achieve sales targets with rewarding incentives.
